About us

GeoTours Guides project will directly address all three priorities identified.
– Addressing digital transformation through the development of digital readiness, resilience and capacity
The project directly addresses this specific priority as its aim is to jointly develop a novel blended training package available on an e-learning platform that will develop the digital capacity of tourist guides, tourist guide students and tourist agencies that are interested to obtain expertise on Geotourism and develop the brand of their Geo-tours. It will contribute to the digital training transformation and support of life-long learning opportunities for tour guides and agents of all ages.
Taking this, the project will offer the essential digital skills and digital branding skills to tour guides and agents based on some of the EU Digital Competence Framework 2.0 areas, i.e digital content development and safety.

Stowarzyszenie Kaczawskie was established in 2002 as a fellowship between business, institutions and people towards sustainable development of the region of Kaczawskie Mountains and Foothills in Sudetes, Lower Silesia region, south-west Poland. It is a non-profit, non-governmental organization. Most of its activities are funded by external, particularly European funds, but also by sixteen supporting municipalities, businesses and from donations of members. The organization does not conduct any commercial activity, however it does charge fees for some of its services (including geo-education) in order to sustain its human and technical resources but without generating any profit.
The organization works with local communities to promote sustainable tourism and regional education. Since its home region is an area of particular scientific and touristic interest, thanks to visible occurrence of past volcanic activity, it was decided to dedicate many actions to protect and promote this heritage. The most notable project is applying to UNESCO Global Geoparks Network to become Land of Extinct Volcanoes UNESCO Global Geopark. The application is currently being reviewed.
Our organization brings together many experts and passionates in geology and geography in order to popularize knowledge of the region and promote it nationally and internationally. The organization’s experience in geo-education was gained by leading workshops and field trips on local geology, geography and landscape, mostly dedicated to local schools and tourists, of whom most occur are families with young children.
In 2015 the association opened a geo-educational centre in Dobków (a village in Świerzawa municipality). Thanks to European and national funds bought a traditional farmstead and recreated it into a modern, interactive science exploration centre, where visitors learn about geology, geography and cultural landscape of the region.
